Congratulations! Shell Brodnax and Skip Landry voted to the HOA Board at our annual meeting 1/23/10. And a big THANK YOU to Mark Whitehouse and Nelson O'Connor for their 2 years of service. Meet the new Board at our next HOA meeting Feb. 8, 2010 at The Pizza Factory at 5:30 pm.
Website: Do you like to write? Do you have ideas on topics for the Board or Architecture Committee to address? Let us know. This website is for us to share information and make our HOA community better. Please let us know.
Winter Storms. Take precautions by cleaning your gutters, opening and clearing drainage around your home, move outdoor furniture to a protected area and stake plants that can be damaged by wind and rain. Stay safe and have new batteries in your flashlights in case we lose electricity.
SNOW in Valley Springs! See KCRA report by Rich Ibarra here.
Violation? At the August HOA meeting, a member questioned why he got a violation letter while his neighbors also had the same violation. The Board ensured the member that his violation letter was one of 90+ letters addressing the same violation within the Association and that no individual is exempt. It was agreed to by the Board that more information needs to be presented on this matter in the future to ensure membership of it's fairness.
Message Board: This is a great tool for asking questions that should be available to all members. Like the question on violations, this would be answered by Board members and others could comment as a discussion group for all to see. It would help in informing everyone of current questions and issues. Remember, you must login to access members only areas.
Future HOA Meetings will be held at The Pizza Factory from now on. Please check the agenda when posted online the week before the meeting.
You do not have to wait for the next HOA meeting if you have a question. Go to the Contacts page and on drop down you can select Management, the Board or Architecture Committee. If you want to start a discussion on a HOA topic, go to the Message Board and make a post. Many ways to stay involved in your community and many ways to share your concerns.
La Contenta Entrance upgrade is complete. Let us know what you think by taking the survey or using the Message Board.
Our Website is almost two years old. While not as many as hoped use it, there is a lot of information available to all members. I monitor the site for access requests daily with rare exceptions. If anyone would like help in navigating the site or has trouble accessing the members only areas or even if you have a suggestion on a good Survey question, please call me. Peter Slorp 772-7141
Board of Directors would like to remind everyone that the CC&Rs are strictly enforced within the La Contenta HOA. The following have new urgency as Spring has arrived:
- Homeowners are making improvements without HOA approval. This can lead to costly corrections. Please read the CC&Rs and Standing Rules for all improvements and submit the request form prior to any construction or improvement. CC&Rs and Standing Rules as well as request forms can be found under Documents on this website. Please submit them to The Management Alternative. Any questions or clarification can be made through the Contacts page.
- Garbage cans need to be stored out of sight when not out for pickup. If left in view you are subject to fines.
- It's time again for weed spraying and or cutting. Please maintain your property as specified in the CC&Rs.
The Board wants the HOA to maintain the highest property values in our area especially in this housing downturn. We must all work together to ensure this. Unrestricted painting, fences, landscaping, weeds and storage will quickly lead to make our community a less desirable place to live. The Board would like to express its deep appreciation for the vast majority that maintain their property under these guidelines.
Speed Limits: at the March 9th HOA meeting the Board reminded everyone on the speed limits within the La Contenta HOA. All residential roads are 25 mph. The only exception to this is Vista Del Lago at 35 mph and Hartvickson at 45 mph. Please drive carefully and watch for children, walkers, golf carts and maintenance equipment. Thank you..

Help Needed: The following volunteer positions need to be filled by those that would like to help out in our HOA.
- Roads Committee - 2 openings
The best way to impact our HOA is by serving. There are a lot of good ideas out there. Please help. Contact Us to voice your interest. Thank you!
The Architecture Committee reminds everyone improvements to our homes and yards need HOA approval prior to start of work regardless of size. Please submit signed forms describing construction. If unsure, please go to the Contact Us page and drop down "Architecture Committee" and send them a note. Please, allow 60 days and do not start a yard project without obtaining a written approval from the Committee. Violations will have to be reversed. Thanks to all.
The La Contenta Golf Club has requested the HOA Board of Directors to remind all members and friends of our community that the golf course is restricted to paying golfers only. Recently there has been an increase in non golfers using the golf paths and course from walkers and joggers to bicycles riding on fairways and greens. Please stay off the course unless you are playing a round of golf. Thank you.
